Akshara Haasan (born 12 October 1990) is an Indian film actress, screenwriter, assistant director who works primarily in Bollywood and the Tamil film industry. Haasan was tipped to be launched by Mani Ratnam in his romantic tale Kadal opposite Gautham Karthik.She has also refused several other offers before accepting R. Balki's film Shamitabh along with Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush.

Haasan will be making her debut as an actress in R. Balki' s new directorial venture opposite Dhanush, which also has Amitabh Bachchan in the lead.
